In a bid to seek guidance from prominent elders/ senior citizens of Lamlai AC, Cheingak Cheisu on Sunday organised an interaction programme at Lamlai Higher Secondary School, Pungdongbam.
The programme was attended by S Raja (Tellou), S Kumar (Yaingangpokpi), K Ibohanbi (Sawombung), Ng Bihari (Nongdam), Y Chaoba (Sawombung), Sh Ibochaoba (Pungdongbam) and I Yaiskul (Pungdongbam) as presidium members, said a release issued by Cheingak Cheisu.
During the event, Cheingak Cheisu honoured the senior citizens by presenting shawls.
The gathering also observed one minute of silence to pay respect to the brave heroes who gave their lives for the cause of the motherland in the present conflict.
A wall poster published by Cheingak Cheisu was also jointly released by the presidium members.
Discussion on treating the elderly with care, respect & dignity, and consulting them for guidance & advice in all areas of life were the main highlights of the programme.
Besides, Cheingak Cheisu informed that it has started providing free education to the children of martyrs from Lamlai AC at Leishemba Maheikol Kangla-Chingarel and Emanual English Academy, Yaingangpokpi.
Cheingak Cheisu has also provided financial assistance to 8 families who have lost loved ones in the present conflict.
