Manipur emerge champions in Khelo India Youth Games Thang-Ta

IMPHAL, Jan 30 : Manipur emerged both the boys and girls (U-18) champions in the 6th Khelo India Youth Games Thang-Ta held at PSG Medical College stadium in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
Manipur boys won a gold and two silver medals to top the table as the girls bagged one gold, two silver and a bronze medals.
The lone gold medal in the boys team was fetched by Kangujam Sanand in the -60 kg Phunaba Ama competition beating Nitin Kumar of Rajasthan.
The silver medals were registered by Moirangthem Sanatomba who was beaten by L Ranat Singha of Assam in the -56 kg Phunaba Ama final and Thokchom Srinvas who went down to Bharat of Haryana in the -56 kg Phunaba Anishuba final.
For girls, Bembem Maisnam won the only gold medal in the girls -52 kg Phunaba Anishuba event as Achom Dhanapati (-52 kg Phunaba Ama) and Sarangthem Malemnganbi (-56 kg Phunaba Anishuba) settled for silver medal and Maisnam Roniya bagged a bronze medal in the -56 kg category Phunaba Ama competition.
