Manipur trail Mizoram by 117 runs after posting 270 in first innings and 149/5 at stumps on Day 3

IMPHAL, Oct 28 : Manipur are trailing behind Mizoram by 117 runs at stumps on Day 3 as they faltered for 270 all out in the first innings of their third league match of the Ranji Trophy Plate Group and posted 149/5 in 40.1 overs as they were asked to follow on.
Resuming the third day at 105/4 in 40 overs, Manipur rode on a fighting half century from Johnson (56 off 129 balls; 9 fours) and significant contributions from Pheiroijam Jotin (44 off 82 balls; 8 fours) and RK Rex Singh (44 off 58 balls; 9 fours) to add 165 runs in 46.5 overs to end the innings at 270 and trail Mizoram by 266 runs.
Mizoram's Cariappa finished with the best haul of 5/89 in his spell of 39 overs as Moses Ramhlunmawia picked 3/26 in 5.5 overs to set up the Manipur collapse at 270.
Asked to follow on, Manipur were 149/5 in 40.1 overs thanks to Kangabam Priyojit's knock off 117-ball 58, Johnson's 49-ball 28 and Pheiroijam Jotin's unbeaten 37.
KC Kariappa picked two wickets for 38 runs as Mohit Jangra, Moses and Joseph shared three wickets among them to put Mizoram in commanding position.
