IMPHAL, Oct 30: The Diabetes Healthcare Research Centre at JNIMS Road, Imphal East has urged a student body not to impose any ban on it. Speaking to reporters at the hospital premises today, Managing Director Dr Moirangthem Dhanabir said some persons who claimed to be members of a student body came and allegedly told the hospital to shut down. He claimed that the persons brought with them a copy of an order of the State Health Services issued last year. Dr Dhanabir clarified that the hospital is not an entity under the State Health Services and it uses AYUSH system of treatment. The hospital has so far treated more than 3,000 patients and is being run under a trust called the Netaji Subhashchandra Bose Social Mission, he said. Urging people to support the hospital, he also informed that a police complaint has been filed against the persons who issued the threat today.
