Bishworjit Konthoujam achieves record 100-wicket milestone in First Class cricket

IMPHAL, Feb 10 : In a historic feat, Manipur's right arm medium fast bowler Bishworjit Kongthoujam has achieved the milestone of record 100-wickets in First Class cricket  today.
Bishworjit, who made his first class debut in the domestic season 2018-19, became first player from Manipur to achieve the milestone and second among North East cricketers after Imliwati of Nagaland completed the same milestone recently.
The 28-year old cricketer, born to Konthoujam Rajendra and Konthoujam ongbi Shyama Devi of Patsoi Part-IV,  reached the 100-wicket figure in 54 innings with a three wicket feat against Services today in the ongoing Ranji Trophy in Ahmedabad.
He finished with the best figures of 3/97 in 26 overs that included 4 maidens to help Manipur restrict Services to 333 runs in 106.1 overs.
Manipur, who were bowled out for the first innings total of 67 in 34.2 overs yesterday were struggling at 51/6 at stumps today (Day 2) to trail behind Services by 215 runs.
