RK Ranjan focuses on education in Manipur Centre allocates over Rs 40,475 lakh

IMPHAL, Feb 11: In a landmark move for the advancement of educational infrastructure in Manipur, the Union Government has allocated Rs 40,475.7 lakh  under the Samagra Shiksha scheme for the fiscal year 2022-23.
The same amount has been earmarked for comprehensive development across elementary, secondary and teacher education sectors of Manipur, according to a statement issued by the office of the Minister of State for Education and External Affairs.
This  significant financial infusion is a testament to the relentless efforts of Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr RK Ranjan Singh and reflects the people-centric governance model of the Narendra Modi-led Government, it said.
The allocation underscores a committed endeavour to ensure that educational projects in Manipur are supported, facilitating a smooth and effective implementation, according to the statement.
The Samagra Shiksha scheme, a flagship initiative of the Govt of India, administered by the Ministry of Education, aims to provide a unified approach to school education. It heralds a paradigm shift by offering a continuum that spans from pre-school to senior secondary levels, seamlessly inte- grating Sarva Shiksha Abhi-yan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhi-yan (RMSA) Teacher Edu- cation under its ambit.
The scheme’s primary objective is to enhance the quality of education, promote inclusiveness and equity, and improve the learning outcomes for students across the country.        
The allocation of Rs 40,475.7 lakh is expected to catalyse a transformative change in the educational landscape of Manipur by enhancing access, quality and effectiveness of school education, it added.
