IMPHAL, Feb 11 : Manipur slumped to an innings and 196-run defeat against Services in their 6th Ranji Trophy Elite Group A tie at ADSA Railways Cricket Ground in Ahmedabad today.
Manipur resumed their second innings this morning (Day 3) at 51/6 but lost all wickets after 19 runs to their tally in 40.3 overs to suffer the huge loss against Services who amassed first innings total of 333 runs 106.1 overs.
AP Sharma removed Bikash Singh on a 16-ball duck to complete his three wicket haul (3/11 in 10 overs) and to reduce Manipur to 55 for 7  before Varun Choudhary ended the Manipur innings by removing Prafullomani  and Kishan Singha both on 8 runs and bowling out the last batter Bishworjit on 1. Varun returned with the second best bowling figures of 3/29 in 10.3 overs.
Earlier yesterday, Pulkit Narang claimed two wickets for 2 runs in a spell of 8 overs while PS Poonia and Raj Bahadur Pal had claimed a wicket apiece to take control over Manipur.
For Services, Ravi Chauhan 108 and Rajat Paliwal 122 had scored centuries to help Services rack up 333 runs in the first innings which saw Manipur Konthoujam Bishworjit (3/97 in 26 overs) and Bikash Singh (3/95 in 9 overs) enjoying three wicket hauls and Lamabam Ajay claiming two wickets (2/37 in 17.1 overs).
On Day 1, Manipur won the toss and opted to bat first before they were dismissed for an innings total of 67 runs in 34.2 overs as Varun Choudhary (3/13 in 7 overs) and PS Poonia (3/27 in 9 overs) rattled the Manipur batting line up.
Manipur will face Saurashtra in the last Elite Group A match from February 16.
