Lokayukta closes case

IMPHAL, Feb 11 : The Manipur Lokayukta has closed the case filed against Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) in connection with implementation of Saubhagya Scheme in the State.
Khumanthem Dhanachandra Singh of Noaremthong, the complainant, had accused MSPDCL officials of misappropriating money sanctioned to implement the scheme (Saubhagya Scheme) in the State.
The MSPDCL didn't implement the scheme in true spirit as envisaged in the guidelines and misappropriated crores of public money released by the Government of India by colluding with the contract firm, the complainant wrote in the petition to the Manipur Lokayukta and named former MSPDCL Managing Director Ng Subashchandra Singh, MD Laishram Priyokumar and Executive Director (Technical) Hijam Shantikumar Singh as the respondents.
The Manipur Lokayukta, however, said that  the allegation raised by the complainant is not substantiated by any materials and the respondents have implemented the scheme as per the REG guidelines.
The Manipur Lokayukta ruled that they have no other options except to dispose of the complaint as the complainant didn't file any application praying for further preliminary  inquiry into the case.
