Indian Army organised Wushu Championship concludes

A week long Wushu Championship organised by the Indian Army came to an end yesterday at Tronglaobi village in Bishnupur district.
The event organised in association with Wushu Association of Manipur kicked off on February 4 and saw an overwhelming participation of the young boys and girls from the region.
The concluding ceremony of the championship was presided over by Roshibina Devi, recipient of the prestigious Arjun Award and Asian Games Silver Medal in 2022 Asian Games Wushu, said  PRO and Spokesperson of Ministry of Defence for Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh in a release.
Roshibina Devi, who was felicitated by General Officer Commanding (GOC) Red Shield Division at the occasion, expressed her gratitude towards the Army for promoting the sport in the region, with focus on youth, it said.
Winners and runner ups were also awarded with medallions and Certificate of Appreciation.
The GOC, while addressing the gathering, lauded the glorious contribution of Manipur in sports in the international and National arenas. He also appreciated the participants for their grit and dedication towards the sport of Wushu, it said.
