TAMENGLONG, Feb 11
Tamenglong Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp in Tamei village today under Operation Sadbhavna.
The medical camp was conducted to address the health issues of the locals residing in the far flung remote areas, said a statement by the Assam Rifles.
Around 300 people benefited from the camp which entitled general health checkup and medical examination by the medical staff of Assam Rifles and local Primary Health Centre.
Apart from the above, medicines were also distributed and administered to the patients.
Such medical camps provide the local population with overall physical examinations and assessment of the functioning of vital organs at their doorstep. Free medical camps are extremely helpful for the underprivileged who can not afford expensive healthcare services offered by hospitals or clinics.
This medical camp at Tamei comes shortly after similar camps were organised by Assam Rifles in Tousem Sub-Division and Dikuiram village of Tamenglong district.
