Save Heibok Ching, appeals Lup

IMPHAL, Feb 13
Heibok Nupi Samaj Kanba Lup and Narankonjin Sports Club Narankonjin Makha Leikai have appealed to both the State Government and the public to help save Heibok Ching.
A statement issued by Th Manibala Devi, secretary, Heibok Nupi Samaj Kanba Lup, has highlighted the destruction of Heibok Ching and its numerous sacred sites  through excavation of earth from the hill. It also pointed out widespread forest fires in the past which had wiped out many varieties of medicinal plants, animals and birds and thus contributed to degradation of Heibok Ching.
