Th Priya-H Tendenthoi pair clinch gold at Rowing Nationals

IMPHAL, Feb 3 : Thangjam Priya and Haobijam Tendenthoi combined well to clinch a gold for Manipur at the 25th Open National Rowing Championship which concluded today at Army Rowing Node in Pune, Maharashtra.
The pair sealed the gold medal in the double scull event with the best time of 1 minute and 36.2 seconds to beat Police's Reena Kumri and Kiran Devi in a photo finish (1 minute and 36.8 seconds). Madhya Pradesh pair of Vindhya Sankath and Jyoti clocked 1: 41.6 (one minute and 41.6 seconds) to seal the bronze medal.
It may be recalled that Priya and Tendenthoi had also sealed a gold medal in the 41st Senior National Rowing Championships' 2000 m double scull competition recently held at the same venue by taking 7 minutes and 59.60 seconds.
At the same championship, Manipur's quadruple team of Changamayum Priya Devi, Yumnam Chengloulembi Devi, Thangjam Priya and Haobijam Tendoithoi bagged a silver medal after finishing second with a time of 7 minutes and 28.40 seconds.
