11th Veteran T-20 CricketCHAMP, UCC-B play out rare tie; Model Club outlast ESU by 5 wickets

IMPHAL, Feb 4 : CHAMP, Khagempalli and UCC-Blue, Uripok played out a rare tie in a Group D match of the ongoing 11th Manipur Veteran T20 Tournament as Model Club, Chingamakha outlasted ESU, Wangkhei with a 6 wicket win in a Group B tie at Langthabal Public Ground.
In the Group D match, UCC amassed 141 runs for 5 wickets after put in to bat first by CHAMP, who missed the target by just a run today.
Jacky and Rajesh added identical 41 to UCC's tally in an innings which saw Bonny, Tomthang and John claiming a wicket apiece for CHAMP.
In the chase, Bonny added highest 46 and Surjit added 38 . Ashini, Deepak and David were able to grab a wicket apiece in this innings.
Bonny of CHAMP who scored 46 runs and picked one wicket was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile in the Group B match staged later, toss winners ESU were bundled out for 98 runs in 19.2 overs as Bobin (4/15) and Jotish (3/23) wreaked havoc before Model Club reached the target in 18.1 overs with 6 wickets left to spare.
Banikanta and Helendro added identical 21 for ESU and Robin gathered 20 runs.
In the chase, contributions from Chinglensana 24, Suresh 18, Sunil 15, Damen 12 and Iboyaima 10 were more than enough for Model Club to register the win. Shantikumar of ESU picked two wickets in this innings as Banikanta claimed one.
Bobin of Model Club who led the bowling attack and returned with a four wicket haul was adjudged man of the match.
NAPSA will play KCC in a Group B match tomorrow.
