1st Governor's Cup Boxing ChampionshipsP Jackson vs H Irabot in Elite Men's 54 kg title clash

IMPHAL, Feb 5 : Pukhrambam Jackson of MKBA-A will fight it out against Heigrujam Irabot of PBA for the elite men's 54 kg title in the 1st Governor's Cup Boxing Championships being underway at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.
Jackson outlasted AUS's Thoithoiba Longjam 4-3 to seal his final berth today while Irabot knocked out ESA's L Loyangamba 5-0 to complete the line up.
The day also saw completion of 20 other semi-final bouts of various age groups and weight categories.
Junior Girls
Soram Luwangleima of NSA edged out MKBA-B's Themsingphi R Makan 4-3 to set up junior girls 52 kg category final date with L Luxmi of STC-Imphal.
In the junior girls 54 kg semi-final bouts, Sharungbam Menaka of SRBA-A earned a walkover win over Ch Reena of NSA and Amom Malemnganbi of STC-Imphal outlasted Kh Sinthoi of PBA 5-2 while Yumnam Niha of SRBA-A beat STC-Imphal's Y Rakhi 4-1 and Leimapokpam Sanjana of UBA beat Ph Renuka of NSA 5-2 in the 57 kg semi-final bouts.
Nimsolan Khapai Shimrah of MKBA-A defeated NSA 's Thoudam Neha 5-0 to book her place in the junior girls 63 kg final.
Youth Men
In a youth men's 48 kg category semi-final bout,  MKBA-A's Biso Roundkhotinsan Koirang outlasted Lourembam Bikramjit of ESA 5-0 before Meinam Khristino Renish of STC-Imphal beat Md Miraj of SBA 5-2 and Bilat Leivon Kom of MKBA-A beat Th Robert of NBA 5-0 in the 53 kg category semi-final bouts.
Lourembam Malemnganba of ESA in the meantime secured a place in the youth men's 57 kg final with an RSC win over M Ratan of SBA before SRBA-A's Elangbam Sunanda sealed an RSC win in first round against K Roshan of SBA and Laishubam Radheshyam of ESA got a walkover win over T Bendish, in the 60 kg category semi-final bouts.
In the youth men's 63.5 kg category semi-final bouts, Aribam Sakil of STC-Imphal sealed an RSC win over Haobijam Hera of AUS before Chinglemba Moirangthem of MKBA-A outlasted Y Henary of PBA 5-0.
Youth Women
Huidrom Karuna of STC-Imphal booked her place in the youth women's 52 kg category final by beating M Kiran of MKBA-A 5-0 in a semi-final bout today.
Mayengbam Sagar Chanu of MKBA also sealed her place in the 50 kg final with an RSC win over H Jenika of SBA.
In the 48 kg category semi-final bouts, Thiyam Apsaba of ESA knocked out L Tamphasana of NBA 5-0 and Sanasam Bandana of STC-Imphal outlasted SBA's L Bandana  with an RSC win before Ahongsangbam Kajal of AUS beat Th Supriya of ESA 4-3 and Ningthoujam Manda beat Kh Sarju of PBA 5-2 in the 54 kg category semi-final bouts.
