IMPHAL, Feb 6 : Leimapokpam Mahesh of PKBA sealed  the  school age boys +75 kg category gold in the ongoing 1st Governor's Cup Boxing Championships.
Mahesh defeated H Hiramani of SRBA-A 4-1 to seal the gold medal as Khaidem Lanchenba of AUS outclassed S Punshiba of PKBA 5-0 for the 64 kg gold and Ngathingshang Valui of SRBA-A overwhelmed PKBA's Kh Jackson for the 61 kg category gold.
Meanwhile, NSA's Khundom Lanchenba beat MKBA-A's Th Wanglen 4-1; Salam Diamond thumped SRBA-A's Kh Mangal and Ningthoujam Akaba outshone Pritam Amom of STC-Utlou to clinc the 58 kg, 55 kg and 49 kg category gold medals respectively as Kh Lamnganba of STC-Utlou beat Kharibam Leishemba of MKBA-A and Jasobanta Yengkhom of PBA overwhelmed E Diamond of PKBA 5-0 for the 52 kg and 43 kg category gold medals.
The 37 kg category gold medal went to Maisnam Renson of STC-Utlou who outclassed NSA's K Ronald 5-0 while the 40 kg category gold medal went to Usham Thouna of NSA who prevailed 5-0 over V Wungchipei Zimik of SRBA-A.
Alvah Abonmai of MKBA-B in the meantime clinched the school age girls 44 kg gold medal beating M Khrismira of MKBA-A 5-0 before MKBA-A's Lamameilu Gangmei thumped T Alena of STC-Imphal for the 46 kg category gold.
The day also saw 10 elite men and women boxers advancing to finals of their respective weight categories.
In the elite men's 57 kg semi-final bouts, Thokchom Nanao of SBA and Kingson Pukhrambam of MKBA-A notched up comfortable 5-0 wins as Premananda Amom of SBA and Manglemba Keisham of MBA emerged victorious in 60 kg semi-final bouts.
Ninthoujam Khambaton of MKBA-A and Thongam Leninson of PBA meanwhile advanced to the 63.5 kg final as Nongthombam Nelson got a walkover to enter the 67 kg final.
Wangjam Eithoibi of SRBA-A, meanwhile beat Ng Reema of PBA to enter elite women's 48 kg final as Maibam Rosemary of SRBA had an RSC win over Haobijam Promila of PBA and Toijam Bhumabati of ESA outclassed E Thoithoi of MKBA-A 5-0 in the 50 kg semi-final bouts.
