L Somorendro named for Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation

IMPHAL, Mar 11: Writer Laishram Somorendro has been selected for the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation 2023.
He is among 24 writers/translators from across the country selected for the award.
Sahitya Akademi, the National Academy of Letters announced the winners of the award today.
Laishram Somorendro was selected for the award for his translation of the book titled "Anhe Ghore Da Daan", a novel in Punjabi to Manipuri language.
The translated book is titled "Mittangba Sagolgee Mingda Angamba Katpiyu".
The Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation will be given later this year.
