Houses gutted

IMPHAL, Mar 23 : At least five houses were gutted in a massive fire at New Bazar Hill Town in Churachandpur near Dongzakao at around 3 am today.
According to sources, the fire, suspected to be from an electric short circuit, was put off at around 5.30 am by Firefighters and Assam Rifles.
The burnt houses belonged to Baikmoi (kutcha house), Zathang (two storey pucca building), Thangsuanmang (kutcha house), Nengjakim Haokip (semi pucca house) and Subash Khadke (two storey pucca building) .
One woman got injured as she jumped from her house to save herself from the fire and she has been identified as Joysil Niangngaihkimi (32), d/o Zathanga.
She was evacuated to the district hospital.
