IMPHAL, Mar 24: The Indian National Congress (INC) has drawn up a list of 25 schemes which they would implement if the party is elected to power.
MPCC president K Meghachandra announced the schemes at a press meet held at Congress Bhavan here this afternoon.
Meghachandra said that the schemes focus on bringing ‘Hisserdari Nyay’, ‘Kisaan Nyay’, ‘Shramik Nyay’, ‘Naari Nyay’ and ‘Yuva Nyay’.
These schemes were conceptualised based on the inputs received from women, youth and the general public during the interaction programmes held in the course of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi which started from Manipur, Meghachandra said.
Rahul Gandhi took serious note of the Manipur crisis. As such, he visited the State twice and interacted with the people directly affected by the violence, said the MPCC president.
The schemes envisaged by the Congress party include socio-economic and caste census which would help in safeguarding the rights of indigenous people and forest dwellers, special budget for SC/ST, 50 per cent reservation for women in Government jobs, doubling wages of ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and Mid-Day Meal workers, annual financial aid of Rs one lakh to each woman belonging to economically backward families, ensuring minimum support price to farmers, exemption of agricultural inputs from GST and  earmarking Rs 5000 crore start-up fund for youth.
Ex-MLAs Fajur Rahim, Victor Keishing and many MPCC leaders were also present at the meeting.
