Guv, CM extend Yoashang greetings

IMPHAL, Mar 24 : Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister N Biren Singh have conveyed their heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the happy and auspicious occasion of Yaoshang 2024.
Celebrated at the onset of spring, Yaoshang exemplifies the rejuvenation of the spirit of life, said the Governor in a statement.
Maintaining that sports is ingrained in the spirit of Yaoshang, Governor Anusuiya urged people to make a resolution to pave the way for a better and peaceful Manipur where every community respects each other and appreciates the space and functions of other communities and joins these functions/festivals.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that the festival of Yaoshang which starts from the full moon day of the lunar month signals the coming of spring, ushering the birth and growth of new beginnings.
Sports and indigenous events witnessed during the five-day long festival have a powerful impact on social bonding of people from different social, economic and religious backgrounds, he said.
With the arrival of Yaoshang, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the festival will take the State back along the path of peace and development.
"May the festival bring emotional integrity among our various communities", said the message of Chief Minister.
