RIMS hosts conference of anaesthesiologists

IMPHAL, Mar 24 : RIMS Director Professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma highlighted the growth of the Anaesthesiology Department during the inaugural function of 6th ISACON (Conference of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists) NE and 5th Annual ISACON Manipur 2024 today.
According to a statement issued by N Phillip Singh, media advisor, RIMS Imphal, the function was held at Jubilee Hall, RIMS Imphal and organised by the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists Manipur State Branch.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director RIMS, Imphal; Professor JV Divitia, honorary president, ISA NHQ and Professor N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Addressing the gathering, the RIMS Director stated that the Department of Anaesthesiology has grown over and above all other departments.
Stating that medical science today is solely dependent on anaesthesiology, he extended his gratitude to RIMS Anaesthesiology Department for supporting the whole system.
On another note, he also spoke about people's lack of knowledge about donating their organs after death.
In this regard, he encouraged the medical fraternity to go forward and ask and educate the people in society to give life to another person.
The Director also accorded a warm welcome to all the experts from outside the State and all the delegates.
Meanwhile, Professor N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal expressed pride upon hosting the function at RIMS and highlighted the importance of anaesthesiologists in medical science.
In addition, the Medical Superintendent thanked the Anaesthesiology Department for their contribution in the past and the present.
