SU edge out GDC 3-1, TRAU hold ESU

IMPHAL, Mar 24 : Sagolband United (SU) knocked out GDC, Thinungei 3-1 to emerge Group B winners and qualify for the quarterfinals of the 1st CM and 14th Loktak Trophy organised by AMOFA.
T Thoi (31'), Ranjan (61') and Bijeshore (83') scored for the Sagolband outfit today as N Bikash scored one for GDC in the 42nd minute.
Having played out a 1-1 draw with KLASA in the other Group stage match, SU emerged Group B winners and entered quarterfinals with Group runners up KLASA.
Earlier in the day, Bishal scored in the 48th minute to help TRAU salvage a 1-1 draw with ESU, Wangkhei who had taken the lead with an 8th minute strike from Takhellambam Bobbish.
With one team from the group being removed, both the teams qualified for the quarterfinals from Group A.
YPHU will play YSWA in the last Group D match tomorrow from 12.30 pm before AMOFA FC face FC Raengdai in the last Group C match from 2.30 pm.
