KSA cancels Kanglei Mega Sports Festival

IMPHAL, Mar 24 : The Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has announced that the Kanglei Mega Sports Festival has been cancelled for this year owing to the prevailing restive situation.
KSA, in a release, said that they have been organising the sporting event annually for more than a decade to encourage youths towards games and sports instead of indulging in pointless activities during the Yaoshang festival.
The event is however cancelled for this year in view of the prevailing restive situation following the numerous armed attacks carried out by "Kuki Narco Terrorists" since May 3 last year and to show solidarity to those families who have lost their loved ones and who have been rendered homeless, it said.
Appealing to all to refrain from all forms of festivities considering the losses and hardships faced by those defending villages in the peripheral area, KSA also urged all educational institutes to carry on with academic activities during Yaoshang holidays to make up for the losses faced at the height of the crisis.
