Meiraba wins All India Senior Ranking tournament men's title

IMPHAL, Apr 14 :  Manipur's ace shuttler Maisnam Meiraba defeated Saneeth DS of Karnataka to top the men's singles All India Senior Ranking Badminton tournament yesterday in Bengaluru.
Meiraba, seeded 12th, got the better of 12th seed Saneeth 12-21, 21-18, 21-9 in a 54-minute final of the tournament hosted by Karnataka Badminton Association.
Meiraba kicked off his campaign of the tournament that began on April 7 April with a 23-21, 21-8 win over Kavin Thangam of Tamil Nadu and secured his place in the pre-quarter finals with a 21-14, 21-13 win over Mohitgowda Palaksha of Karnataka in the second round.
In the pre-quarter final match, Meiraba outlasted 4th seed Kartikey Gulshan Kumar of Delhi 21-17, 21-15 to seal his place in the last-8 stage where he defeated Saurabh Varma of MP 13-21, 21-14, 22-20 to set up semi-final date with 2nd seed Bhargav S.
Meiraba then pulled off a 21-15, 21-10 win over Bhargav S to enter the final.
