16th Manipur State League AFC romp 5-0 past USA, YOSC edge past NACO 2-1 for second win

IMPHAL, Apr 14 : The Athletics Football Club (AFC), Thoubal registered a dominating 5-0 win over USA, Khurai today at DSA Ground, Kakching in a Group A match of the 16th Manipur State League.
Laishram Roshan and Sahidur Rahaman starred in the match scoring two goals apiece while Ningombam Kabiraj scored one in AFC's win this morning.
AFC started strongly and broke the deadlock in the 34th minute through Roshan who went on to score his second one minute into the added time of the first half to make it 2-0.
They picked up the game from where they left and made it 3-0 through Ningombam Kabiraj after 48 minutes before Sahidur Rahaman struck the team's fourth goal in the 63rd minute.
USA continued to linger despite conceding four goals and to their disappointment, Sahidur was at it again three minutes into the stoppage time (90+3') to complete his brace and 5-0 rout of the Khurai team.
In another Group A match staged this afternoon at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) played out a goalless draw with Liwachangning Youth Cultural Club (LYCC).
It was the second draw for MPSC having played out a 3-3 draw with USA in their opening match.
Meanwhile, the result fired LYCC on top of Group A table with 4 points from two matches having won 3-0 against United Brothers FC in their first match.
Elsewhere at Kakching DSA Ground, Youth Organization Sporting Club  (YOSC), Khurai eased to their second Group B win by edging past Nambol Mapal Athletic and Cultural Organisation (NACO) 2-1.
Fahim Riyas opened the scoring for YOSC early in the fourth minute before Kheithelakpam Ibotomba struck the team's second in the 79th minute. NACO, who were unable to make the most of the chances for major portions of the game, fought hard late on and got their reward in the form of an own goal by YOSC's Md Rohit in the 85th minute. They continued to toil to salvage a draw but YOSC managed to hold on to their lead and see out the game 2-1.
