IMPHAL, Apr 15
The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has categorically stated that NSCN(IM)’s aggressiveness should be put to an end once for all.
“If NSCN(IM), UNC and its units continue threatening and intimidating the public to support NPF, we will deal with the matter with iron hands and those people indulging in such activities shall bear responsibility for their own action”, said a press release issued by ZUF Medic Cell.
It said that Dr Alyson Abonmai, Independent candidate in Outer Manipur PC  and his team were detained, harassed and banned from carrying out election campaigns in Noney and Tamenglong district headquarters on April 11 allegedly by NSCN(IM) cadres and UNC volunteers.
While ZUF has been advocating free and fair election, the NSCN(IM) goes about hunting to kill anyone who stands on their way. Alur Seikho, ZUF Joint Secretary was pulled out of a house and killed in full public view, it said.
The ZUF and the Zeliangrong Tiger Force (ZTF) held a security council meeting on April 12 and reaffirmed its earlier decision for free and fair election in all Zeliangrong inhabited areas in particular and the Naga areas in general, according to the press release.
