"Ei Amadi Cancer" enters book of world record

IMPHAL, Apr 16: Keke Wahengbam's "Ei Amadi Cancer"-a book on his journey through cancer has made it to the prestigious book of world record.
A writer and former announcer at the All India Radio Imphal, Keke Wahengbam was born on April 27, 1968 to Late Wahengbam Ibotombi and Bino Leima.
Beside his career as a writer, he has also acted in several Manipuri feature films.
"Ei Amadi Cancer" was published on March 21, 2021 under the banner of the Patriotic Writers' Forum Manipur with Bobo Khundrakpam as publisher.
Worthy Wellness Foundation, Indore, founder Mansi Baspai said the book has been included in the Prestigious Book of World Record for inspiring cancer patients and survivors.
Priced at Rs 200 per book, hundreds of copies worth Rs 5 lakh have been sold.
The money earned from selling the books are donated towards welfare for cancer survivors, blind and differently abled persons.
Notably, Keke Wahengbam was recognised as the "most influential personality" in 2022 by Manipur International University, Imphal.
In 2023, Sahitya Seva Samiti Kakching conferred him with the Yendrembam Godhadhor Memorial Award.
Works are on to translate "Ei Amadi Cancer" to English, Hindi and Bengali Language.
