16th Manipur State LeagueNACO hand TRAU third loss, NISA extend winning run

IMPHAL, Apr 17 : TRAU, Kwakeithel slumped to third straight loss in the 16th Manipur State League Group B competition  with a 1-3 defeat in the hands of NACO, Nambul Mapal today at DSA Ground Kakching this morning.
TRAU found the breakthrough in the 31st minute through Moirangthem Diya but NACO rallied to pull level one minute into the added time before the break.
After the break, NACO gained further ground with Khwairakpam Rohit scoring the team's second in the 55th minute before Sekhar Tensubam further stretched the lead and set up the 3-1 win with a clinical finish in the 79th minute.
Elsewhere at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, NISA, Thangmeiband thumped Rahee UC 2-0 for the second win in three matches.
Ngangom Peter found the opener in the 9th minute before Laishram Binoy hit the decisive goal in the 53rd minute.
Meanwhile in another Group B match staged this afternoon at DSA ground, YOSC held NESU to a 1-1 draw in an all- Khurai clash.
NESU went ahead after 35 minutes through Phijam Sanathoi's strike but YOSC rode on Ningthoujam Pritam to equalise the margin in the 44th minute.
Despite attempts, the scoreline remained unchanged till the final whistle forcing both the teams to share a point apiece.
