Man found dead, wife missing

IMPHAL, Apr 2 : A 39 year old man was found dead with a piece of cloth wrapped tightly around his neck in a rented room at Namdailong under Lamphel police station, today.
There were scratch marks on the face, hands and chest on the body of the deceased whose wife has reportedly gone into hiding.
The deceased has been identified as Ritishkumar Magar of Kanglatongbi and his wife is Solemphi (36) of Ukhrul district and they have three children.
According to a family member of the deceased, the couple had been living in the rented room for quite some time and they quarrelled frequently.
The couple also quarrelled last night, said the family.
Ritishkumar was found dead with a chuni wrapped around his neck in the rented room by the landlord at around 9.30 am and their room was found open.
It is reported that the whereabouts of Solemphi is still not known.
A case has been registered and the corpse has been deposited at RIMS mortuary.
