Voters' awareness campaign intensifies in Pherzawl

In connection with the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, initiatives to promote electoral literacy and enhance public participation in the electoral process gained momentum in Pherzawl.
Under the overall guidance of the District Election Officer (DEO) Asish Das, a series of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programs were organized across different locations in the district.
Electoral Literacy Clubs were reactivated at different educational institutions in collaboration with ZEO Pherzawl. Awareness campaigns to inspire prospective voters were organized at Pherzawl Govt H/S, Leijangphai Govt H/S and Parbung Govt Hr Sec School.
Since the last couple of weeks, the Health Department undertook stamping of SVEEP messages on OPD tickets of Community Health Centre, Parbung to encourage the people to vote in the ensuing election.
ASHA workers have also mobilized prospective voters to enrol in the voters list. Gram Sabha and mass rally were organized at Pherzawl District Headquarters and Parbung Village to spread voter awareness wherein the District officials, CSOs, Village Chairmen/Secretaries and the general public took part in the events.
The DEO Pherzawl also collaborated with Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission in advocating for free and fair election among Women Self Help Groups under its projects.
