In connection with the several images and video clips of the Lok Sabha election held today which went viral on social media, the Arambai Tenggol has clarified that it never instructed its members to indulge in ‘such activities’.
Those people indulging in such unwanted activities might have been workers of MLAs or the candidates. The Arambai Tenggol has no connection with those activities, the group said in a press release.
The viral video in which some alleged Arambai Tenggol members were accused of trying to strangulate a woman at Kyamgei had nothing to do with the Arambai Tenggol, it said.
It then appealed to the police to take up necessary action as per law in connection with the activities perpetrated in the name of the Arambai Tenggol.
Arambai Tenggol too has been investigating these activities.
No Arambai Tenggol was given permission or instructed to indulge in such activities. It was an attempt by some people to project the Arambai Tenggol in the wrong light, it said.
It also appealed to the ECI to hold repoll at Bamon Kampu, Iroisemba and Khongman Zone 4.
