81.6 pc turnout recorded for repoll at 11 PSs

IMPHAL, Apr 22 : A voter turnout of 81.6 per cent was recorded at 11 Polling Stations where repoll was held in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in Imphal East and Imphal West on Monday (April 22).
The repoll was conducted on the direction of the Election Commission after  election malpractices were reported from these 11 Polling Station in the first phase of the election on April 19.
People from these 11 Polling Stations exercised their franchise from 7 am to 5 pm and there was no report of any disturbance or violence during the voting hours.
The repoll was held amid tight security at 3/11 Moirangkampu Sajeb Upper Primary School, 3/21 S Ibobi Primary School (East Wing), Khurai Thangjam Leikai in Khurai Assembly Constituency; 4/43 Bamon Kampu Upper Primary School (North A), 4/44 Pioneer Academy, Bamon Kampu (North-B), 4/45 Irilbung High School (North Wing), Bamon Kampu (South West), 4/46 Irilbung High School (South Wing), Bamon Kampu (South East) in Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency; 5/31 National Children's School, Khongman Zone (V)-A in Thongju AC; 10/1 Iroisemba Upper Primary School (Eastern Wing), 10/6 Iroisemba UPS (Western Wing), & 10/7 Iroisemba UPS (Middle Wing) in Uripok AC; and 18/22 Khaidem Primary School (Southern Wing), Khaidem Makha in Konthoujam Assembly Constituency.
As per a statement issued by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur, the voter turnout at 3/11 Moirangkamp Sajeb Upper Primary School Polling Station under 3-Khurai AC was 82.06 per cent (773 people casted their votes) while the turnout at  3/21 S Ibobi Primary School (East Wing) Polling Station was 79.68 per cent with 800 voters exercising their franchise.
The poll percentage recorded at 4/43  Bamon Kampu Upper Primary School in Kshetrigao AC was 86.51 (654 votes casted). At 4/44 Pioneer Academy in the same Constituency, the voter turnout was 81.48 per cent (550 votes casted).
The poll percentage at 4/45 Irilbung  High School (North Wing) Polling Station 74.97 with 581 voters exercising their franchise while the voter turnout at 4/46 Irilbung High School (South Wing) was 77.16 per cent (554 votes casted).
In 5-Thongju AC, the poll percentage at 5/31 National Children School was 85.43 with (592 votes casted).
The repoll at 10-1 Iroisemba in Uripok AC saw a voter turnout of 78.29 per cent (754 votes casted) while a poll percentage recorded at 10/6 Iroisemba Polling Station was 80.20 (541 votes casted).
In 18 Konthoujam AC, a voter turnout of 88.64 per cent was recorded at Khaidem Primary School (South Wing) with 640 voters exercising their franchise.
All EVMs from the 11 Polling Stations have been taken to the store rooms of the respective DC offices under security coverage and in the presence of the polling agents.
