IMPHAL, Apr 23: KCP-Taibanganba Group and UPPK-Chingkhei Group have appealed to all the people of Manipur to stop abusing and criticising each other on social media, electronic media and print media in connection with the Lok Sabha election.
Calling upon all the people to be wary of the divisions created by elections in the State, the two outfits, in a joint statement, clarified that they are not involved in the election being held in the State.
In the midst of the untold misery being suffered by all the communities of Manipur on account of the violent conflict between Kuki-Zou narco-terrorists and the Meitei community which erupted on May 3, 2023, the first phase of polling for the 18th Lok Sabha election was held on April 19, 2024.
But violent incidents and confrontations that took place during the election created fissures and divisions among the people, it said.
Whereas the election is almost over, Kuki-Zou narco-terrorists have been formulating different strategies to launch fresh attacks against the Meitei people. As such, all the indigenous peoples must come together and fight the enemy collectively instead of abusing and criticising each other over the election, the two outfits asserted.
