K Babu Memorial Super Divn Football League begins

IMPHAL, Apr 24 : The 4th edition of K Babu Memorial Super Division Football League 2022-23 organised by the District Football Association, Moirang kicked off today at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School playground.
The opening match of the tournament particpated by 6 teams saw SYC, Sagang rally back from two goals down to deny MARD Club, Moirang all three points.
The two teams started cautiously and entered into the break goalless. MARD Club, however shifted gears in the second half and broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute through A Rishikanta before Laban Kom doubled the advantage 8 minutes later.
SYC fought hard to reduce the gap until Songkhupreng pulled back a gal in the 82nd minute and successfully equalised three minutes later through Rengneisong to dash the hopes of MARD Club walking away will all three points.
The last few minutes of the game saw both the teams struggling to find the lead but their efforts went in vain and eventually ended up sharing a point apiece.
ELSA, Naranseina will face PYDA, Kwakta in the next match of the tournament tomorrow from 2.30 pm.
