Cong seeks extra security measures at Jiri

IMPHAL, Apr 25 : The Congress party has urged all the relevant authorities to take up adequate security measures at 14 polling stations in Jiribam during the voting hours and let the people cast their votes peacefully tomorrow.
Speaking to the media at Congress Bhavan today,  former working president of MPCC Dr Kh Ratankumar said that many cases of violence and malpractices were reported in many polling stations in the first phase of election held on April 19.
He also said that the 18th Lok Sabha election held on April 19 in Inner PC and 15 Assembly segments was undemocratic at many polling stations.
The Congress party has written to the Election Commission and CEO Manipur to take up extra measures to conduct the 2nd phase of election peacefully, he said and added that the polling agent of Congress at Jiribam has also written to  the EC and CEO Manipur to take up extra security measures at 17 polling stations of Jiribam.
