5th Sangai Trophy UVSA thump NKVFC 2-0, both qualify for quarters

IMPHAL, Apr 25 : UVSA, Lilong Chajing defeated NKVFC, Utlou by 2-0 goals in the top of the Group C table clash of the 5th Sangai Trophy Veteran Football Championship today at CYLC ground, Pishum.
Both the goals that sealed UVSA's third straight victory in the league round were scored by N Gandhi in the 5th and the 60th minute.
With the result, UVSA finished group winners with 9 points as NKVFC finished second on 6 points from two wins.
In a high scoring dead rubber Group C match staged earlier in the day, L Gobind scored five goals for TRVSA but his effort went in vain as MVFC, Chandel emerged victorious by 7-6 goals to end their campaign on a winning note.
For, MVFC Beshani Monsang (33', 35', 42'), Khartu Monsang (21'), Shongsir Monsang (28' P), Behari Solshi (30+2') and Andy (54') were on target.
Meanwhile for TRVSA, H Suresh (7') added one before L Gobind (9', 47', 52', 56', 57') netted five goals alone.
