Anusuiya Uikey inaugurates Liquid Bio Fertiliser Production Unit, Food Museum

Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Thursday inaugurated the newly developed Liquid Bio-Fertiliser Production Unit at the College of Food Technology, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Lamphelpat, Imphal.
According to a release issued by PRO of Raj Bhavan, the Liquid Bio-Fertiliser Production Unit aims to produce environment friendly liquid bio-fertilisers for use in the University and people in general.
As part of the event, the Governor also opened a Food Museum of Northeast States in the College Campus where food items from the seven North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura are being displayed.
The museum is being developed as a component of Agro-ecotourism Park in the College Campus within the University.
Later, the Governor launched an aerial footage of Central Farm, CAU, Imphal.
The footage covers the transformation progress of the earlier wetland area of the farm to farming land for which the work was initiated from November 2, 2020 under the leadership and guidance of Vice Chancellor, Dr Anupam Mishra. The newly developed farm was made functional by a team meticulously led by Prof Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction and Dean, College of Agriculture, Iroisemba.
Besides, the Governor also visited the Food Processing Pilot Plant of College of Food Technology, Lamphelpat, Imphal and interacted with students and entrepreneurs.
Talking to the media, Anusuiya Uikey said that CAU has been taking a key role in transforming the agricultural sector by introducing different techniques in agriculture and allied activities.
She asserted that different farming systems have been introduced by using bio-fertilisers which will be helpful to the people.
Lauding the efforts made by Dr Anupam Mishra and his team, the Governor mentioned that the opening of the Food Museum as a component of agro-tourism will attract tourists from the North Eastern states to Manipur.
Dr Anupam Mishra, Prof Indira Sarangthem, Dr L M Garnayak, Director of Research, Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma, Director of Extension Education, Dr Tilak R Sharma, Registrar, CAU, officials and students of the University attended the events.
