IMPHAL, Apr 26 : Showcasing that every vote counts and as a means at empowering democracy, a special polling station was set up for only one voter at Moreh Higher Secondary School.
It is said that the person who exercised his franchise at the polling station set up exclusively for him today is Henvanlallien Kaihmang, an Internally Displaced Person from Langol (Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency).
The lone voter was given a simple gift by the polling officials after he cast his vote for taking part in the democratic exercise. After exercising his franchise, Henvanlallien thanked the election authority for honouring his voting right and letting him take part in the democratic exercise as a citizen of India.
Meanwhile, short clips and photos of BSF personnel helping the aged and  PWD voters at many polling stations have been circulated widely on social media.
