IMPHAL, Apr 26 : In a rebuttal to Kuki Inpi Manipur's (KIM) April 25 statement, the Meitei Resurgence Forum (MReF) has highlighted several instances of attacks allegedly perpetrated by "Kuki narco-terrorists" and demanded immediate action by the Government of India.
It may be noted that in its April 25 press release, KIM had appealed the Government of India for “immediate intervention and impartial investigation over the incessant attack on Kuki-Zo dominated areas” and alleged that “the recent attempt to disrupt the crucial economic lifeline of the State” before the Lok Sabha elections in Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency” was carried out “by the combined forces of the valley-based insurgent groups” and “private militias” of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and MP Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba, said a statement issued by T Ramananda, president, MReF.
In this connection, MReF pointed out that on April 16, Kuki militants ambushed oil and LPG gas tankers along NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam Road) between Tollen (Kuki village) and Santikhunou under Tousem police station in Tamenglong district where one driver was injured.
More recently, Kuki narco-terrorists allegedly carried out a bomb blast at a critical bridge between Sapermeina and Koubru Leikha along National Highway-2, which is a Kuki-dominated area on April 24. The powerful IED blast damaged the bridge, leaving over 150 trucks carrying essential commodities to Imphal, stranded in Senapati, added MReF.
In addition, MReF accused Kuki narco-terrorists of pouring toxic materials into rivers flowing down from Kuki-dominated areas (hills) to the Imphal valley.
MReF went on to assert that these are some attacks reportedly committed by the Kuki narco-terrorists and not by any Meitei organizations of the Chief Minister.
It went on to quote numerous Bible verses including Proverbs (12:22), Leviticus (19:11), Proverbs (13:5), Psalm (101:7), Exodus (20:16), John (8:44), Colossians (3:9) and Ephesians (4:25) on the topic of “lying”.
Further appealing against circulation of disinformation and misleading people, including the global Christian brethren for political mileage, MReF has urged the Kuki community to indulge in peace building efforts.
Lastly, MReF appealed to the Government of India to initiate immediate action over the ongoing  attacks on National properties by Kuki narco-terrorists.
