S Athouba clinches junior boys' triathlon title

IMPHAL, Apr 28 : Sarungbam Athouba won the junior boys' triathlon title in the Junior and Sub-Junior State Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships organised by the Triathlon Association of Manipur at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex today.
Sarungbam Athouba clocked 28:38:27 to seal the junior boys triathlon competition finishing ahead of Chingangbam Binodchandra (31:32:74) and Saikhom Bikash (33:46:85).
The senior boys triathlon title in the meantime went to Chingangbam Bipinchandra who took 32 minutes and 16.31 seconds.
In the sub-junior boys competition, Leishangthem Rebishan emerged on top with a 33:38.65 finish as Krish Yengkhom (33:53.31) and Dakhin Yengkhom (35:59.76) secured second and third places.
Leishangthem Saiyonbi in the meantime secured the sub-junior girls' aquathlon crown with a 16:21.49 finish as Tejashwani Oinam (18:54.46) and Sagolshem Panthoi (20:48.03) settled for the second and third places.
In the sub-junior boys' aquathlon competition, N Dhananjoy took 12 minutes and 44.70 seconds to finish on top as Thangjam Langamba (12:34.68) and Athoiba Koijam (15:44.85) finished second and third. L Piouson in the meantime sealed the junior boys' Aquathlon title posting a 15:22.52 finish.
