MTB National C'ship : Ronel wins U-23 XCO gold; Adonis Tangpu, Thotmachan bag silver

IMPHAL, Apr 2 : Khundrakpam Ronel clinched the U-23 XCO (cross country olympics) gold medal at the 20th National MTB Championship which was held from March 28 to 31 at Panchkula, Haryana.
Khundrakpam Ronel is the son of Khundrakpam Nabachandra of Ningthoukhong.
Meanwhile, Khariksing Adonis Tangpu from Ukhrul bagged a silver and a bronze medal in the Elite Men's XCO time trial and mass start events as Thotmachan Awungshi, who is also from Ukhrul claimed a silver medal in the junior boys XCO mass start event.
Based on their performances, the State trio have been selected for the Asian Championship slated to be held next month in Malaysia.
The Manipur Adventure and Mountain Biking Association (MAAMBA), in a press release, congratulated the State bikers on their achievement and on being selected for the continental event to be hosted by Malaysia.
