Contractors demand

IMPHAL, Apr 2: PWD contractors have asked the Government to clear and release all pending bills before Lok Sabha elections or face cease work stir.
At Manipur Press Club Imphal today, All Manipur Hill and Plain Contractors Association president, Ksh Rajen said the bills submitted before this financial year have not been released till today by the Finance Department.
Urging the Finance Department to clarify why the bills have not been released, he further accused the Government of releasing the bills for only a few select contractors close to it.
If the Government fails to release the bills before the Lok Sabha elections, the contractors will cease all construction work, he added.
