IMPHAL, Apr 6 : Sadananada Okram picked up 6 wickets to inspire PTCC, Patsoi a commanding 69-run victory over TRAU, Kwakeithel in the ongoing 8th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament.
Put in to bat first, PTCC racked up a competitive total of 226 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 45 overs at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium before Sadananda Okram broke the back of the TRAU batting order to help reduce them to 157 all out within 32.1 overs.
For PTCC, Andy Mandingbam starred with a significant 94-ball 84 off 7 fours and 2 sixes as Hijam Hemachandra remained unbeaten on 40 off 28 balls. Gemson 39 and Paonam Champion 33 also contributed well in the innings which saw Mutum Swabhiman picked two wickets (2/41) for TRAU
In reply, Pukhrambam Prafullomani added 58 of 41 balls and Thounaojam Rishikanta added 47 but their efforts went in vain as they slumped to 157 all out in 32.1 overs as Sadananda wreaked havoc on the way to his 6 wicket haul (6/18 in 9 overs).
Sohail Akram, Naorem Victor, Gemson and Abit Hijam also picked up a wicket apiece for PTCC.
Sadananda Okram was eventually adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha bundled out SCCC, Singjamei Thongam Leikai for 129 runs in 39.4 overs and chased down the target within 27.3 overs with five wickets left to spare.
M Langlonyamba (3/30), Dibak Naorem (2/24) and Sunil Salam (2/17) also shared seven wickets for Model Club who won the toss elected to field first.
Lishan Meitei 27 off 63 balls was the highest run getter for SCCC today before Model Club cruised past the target within 27.3 overs thanks to Langlonyamba 29, Ronald Ningombam 28 and Dibak Naorem 24 not out.
The day also saw CRAU, Khamnam Bazar post a 19 run victory over ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound at Lairenjam Public Ground by defending a modest total of 191/10 which they gathered in 43.1 overs courtesy of Ph Jodash's late 45-ball 80.
Potshangbam Ronil 33 and Lamabam Jotin 21 also contributed to CRAU's tally in an innings that saw Thokchom Nishikanta (3/39), Chitaranjan Sharma (2/17) and Chongtham Mehul Shreth (2/26) sharing 7 wickets for ESU.
In reply, ESU succumbed to 172 all out as CRAU's Lamabam Ajay (2/21), Bm Sabakhan (2/24), Takhellambam Kala (2/27) and Heishnam Joyhenba (2/39) put in a concerted effort.
Yumkham Balajit 37, Thokchom Nishikanta 37 and Chongtham Mehul Shreth 28 were the leading scorers for ESU in the chase.
