Pursue bodybuilding career under recognised controlling body only : AMBBA

The All Manipur Bodybuilders Association (AMBBA) has called upon bodybuilding enthusiasts to pursue career only under the association which is the sole controlling body recognised by the Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur.
AMBBA, in a press release, said that it has organised Mr Manipur competition 61 times and produced eminent personalities like former Mr India (1970) late Oja Nongthombam Maipak who went on to represent India at Mr Universe held in Paris in 1971.
Expressing regret over witnessing bodybuilding competitions held in personal interest, AMBBA said that athletes participating in such unrecognised events will be banned for lifetime.
Noting that certificates from AMBBA recognised competitions will come handy while applying for Government jobs, AMBBA said it will be wasteful for youngsters to pursue bodybuilding careers under unrecognised bodies.
AMBBA further appealed to guardians and parents to think carefully where to send their wards when it comes to bodybuilding as a career choice. It went on to appeal to bureaucrat officers and peoples representatives to attend "championships which are recognised by the Government".
