IMPHAL, May 9 : The Meetei Society Churachandpur (MCS) has condemned the alleged life attempt on an inmate of a relief camp set up at Thanga by unidentified armed miscreants yesterday.
Notably, one Sawaisam Dhanabir Meetei (28) of Churachandpur Yaifakol was shot at in front of Thanga Wangma High School relief camp yesterday and he sustained four bullet injuries.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club today, general secretary of MCS (administration) N Ramesh questioned the motive for the life attempt on Dhanabir.
Dhanabir should have been given an opportunity to clarify even if he had done any wrong, Ramesh reasoned.
Appealing to all concerned to stop infighting or animosity 'among us' during this troubled time, he urged the group or individuals who opened fire at Dhanabir to clarify the motive behind the attack at the earliest.
