Awareness programme on "Evil consequences of child marriage" held

IMPHAL, May 11 : The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Imphal East in association with Child Marriage Prohibition Officer, Imphal East and District Administration, Imphal East organised a 1-day awareness programme on "Evil Consequences of Child Marriage" at Panchayat Bhavan, DC Complex, Porompat yesterday.
It was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East, Khumanthem Diana Devi; District Child Protection Officer, DCPU, Imphal East, Konjengbam Anita and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East, RK Dayananda Singh as presidium members.
The programme began with a welcome & keynote address delivered by Phurailatpam Devabrata, Protection Officer, DCPU, Imphal East.
Resource person of the programme, Reena Chanu Moirangthem, Child Marriage Protection Officer, Imphal East, also delivered a lecture on the topic, "Evil Consequences of Child Marriage".
The event culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Amita Chanu, Social Worker, DCPU, Imphal East.
