AOI, Imphal achieves NABH accreditation

IMPHAL, May 11: Ameri-can Oncology Institute (AOI) at Babina Specialty Hospital in Imphal has achieved NABH accreditation uplif-ting healthcare standards in the region.
The NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) accreditation is a rigorous process that evaluates various aspects of healthcare delivery, including patient care, infras- tructure, infection control, and management systems.
This accreditation is a testament to the hospital's dedi- cation to upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety, said Dr Thang-jam Dhabali,  chairman and managing director of BABINA Healthcare and Hospitality Industries Pvt Ltd.
Speaking to reporters on the achievement, Dr Dhabali said the American Oncology Institute in Imphal since its opening has been providing comprehensive cancer diagnostics and treatment facilities.
When the institute was opened, it had three Departments, Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology and Radiation Oncology. Later, for the first time in Manipur, a Nuclear Medicine Department was added. In a few months, the institute will have the facility for conducting bone marrow transplants for comprehensive treatment of cancer patients, he said.
In a statement, Dr Amit Dhawan, Regional Chief Operating Officer (RCOO) of AOl Imphal, expressed his delight as the institute achieved the significant milestone.
"Receiving NABH accreditation is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence in healthcare delivery. This achievement reaffirms our commitment to providing safe, effective, and patient-centric care to the communities we serve. We are immensely proud of our team's dedication and hard work, which have made this accreditation possible," Dr Amit Dhawan said.
The NABH accreditation not only acknowledges AOI Imphal's adherence to best practices in  healthcare but also positions the hospital as a trusted healthcare provider in the region, Dr Amit added.
Separately, the hospital celebrated Nurses Day yesterday in a solemn function held in the presence of Imphal East Deputy Commissioner Khumanthem Diana and Dr Th Dhabali. Awards were distributed to nurses of the hospital at the event.
