IMPHAL, May 11 : MMC secured as many as 14 medals including 7 gold medals from across different age-group  events as the 43rd State Age Group Athletics Championships being underway at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium completed the second day.
The day also saw CWC added 5 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals to their tally as ISA Heirok bagged 14 medals including 4 gold medals. KNSAA, LSA, PRSC, SROY, and IC also added three gold medals apiece to their tallies.
Day 2 Highlights
Discus Throw
David Singh of KNSAA bagged the U-18 boys discus gold medal with a 18.63 m finish as L Chingkhei of ISA took the U-20 boys gold medal with a 18.68 m finish.
Kh Samson of IC sealed the men's open discus gold medal with a prolific 43.24 m throw as S Bebe of PRSC (18.53 m), Leishembi Mutum of CWC (17.43 m) and U Roshni of KNSAA (14.12 m) won gold medals in the senior women's, U-18 girls and U-16 girls competitions.
Meanwhile, O Robinson of AMESSCO won the U-16 boys discus gold with a 31.10 m finish.
5000 m race
Kh Romajit of CWC claimed the men's open 5000 m race with a time of 15 minute and 55.06 seconds as K Somorjit of MMC-Mongkhang Lambi sealed the U-20 boys title taking 16 minute and 6.99 seconds.
W Sunita of SROY in the meantime topped the women's open competition as she clocked 23:20.36 while T Russia Chanu of MMC clocked 19:26.28 to clinch the U-20 girls gold medal.
300 m race, 200 m race and 600 m race
Chingulembi Chanu of MMC was the best in the U-16 girls 300 m racing finishing the course in 46.79 seconds well ahead of CWC's O Paisana (53.21 sec) and HYC's W Joshila (54.93 sec).
SAA's K Washim Ahamad in the meantime bagged the U-16 boys 300 m race gold with a time of 38.52 seconds.
N John of CWC in the meantime bagged the U-18 boys 200 m race gold taking 23.21 seconds as Md Dauad Khan of MMC sealed the U-20 boys gold taking 23.40 seconds.
Sidhu Bushan of CWC topped the senior men's 200 m race as he clocked 22.35 seconds. MSC's M Ashnichandra was second with a close 22.59 seconds finish as T Johnson finished third with a time of 23.51 seconds.
Meanwhile, Y Babysana of MMC clinched the U-18 girls 200 m race gold with a 30.55 seconds finish while Mariana Golmei of IC sealed the U-20 girls gold with a 31.54 seconds finish.
Women's 200 m race gold meanwhile went to Subiangmon Tariang of PRSC who took 29.41 seconds. Th Radhesana of SROY (30.32 seconds) and H Chanchanrani of CWC (31.30) finished second and third in the event.
HYC's Nevia Laishram clinched the U-14 girls 600 m race gold with a time of 1:49.71 (1 minute 49.71 seconds) as M Meethoinganba Khuman won the U-14 boys 600 m race gold with the best time of 1:33.16.
400 m hurdles
Subodh Maddi of PRSC clinched the men's 400 m hurdles  gold medal with a time of 1:07.79 finish as Th Radhesana of SROY won the women's gold with a 1:37.40 finish. Kh Kuppi of ISA in the meantime won the U-20 boys gold medal with a time of 1:12.73.
1500 m race
Mutum Mukta of HYC was second to none in the U-18 boys 1500 race as he clocked 4:23.61 while L Pari of KNSAA won the U-20 boys gold with a time of 4:22.22.
S Mahen of MMC in the meantime took 4 minutes and 15.71 seconds to seal the men's gold medal as N Tokyo of HYC (4:17.03) and S Dhanajit of MMC (4:17.48) finished second and third to settle for the silver and the bronze medals.
MK Khalida of LSA in the meantime pocketed U-18 girls competition gold medal with a time of 4:42.64 asn W Sunita Chanu of SROY took the women's open gold medal with a time of 6:16.94.
4x100 m relay
CWC quartet comprising of I Kangleingamba, M Kingson, T Johnson and Sidhu Bhusan took the men's 4x100 m relay gold medal with a time of 43.54 seconds as MMC (45.23 sec) and KNSAA (46.81 sec) quartets finished second and third.
CWC's A Anjita, Premita, Bidyaluxmi and L Velinda meanwhile claimed the women's gold with a 55.30 seconds finish as MMC (56.45 sec) and HYC (58.37 sec) quartets finished second and third respectively.
60 m race
S Uttam Mangang of ISA took home the U-14 boys 60 m race gold posting a 7.32 seconds finish as H Sanjana Chanu of IC won the U-14 girls gold medal with a time of 8.34 seconds.
Triple jump
The day also witnessed N Nungsiba of ISA securing U-16 boys triple jump gold medal with a 9.85 m finish as Farish of LSA won the U-18 boys gold medal with a 10.50 m finish and Zahir Khan of LSA took the U-20 boys gold medal with a 10.67 m jump.
K Romeshchandra of MPSC meanwhile clinched the men's open gold medal with a best jump of 12.23 m as compatriot A Surbala sealed the women's gold medal by registering best jump of 8.79 m.
