46th Senior State Level Handball Tournaments MPSC, KVWA extend winning run in men's tourney

IMPHAL, May 11 : MPSC and KVWA, Mayang Imphal extended their winning runs to two games in the ongoing 46th Senior State Level Men and Women's Handball Tournaments being hosted by Mairenkhong Rising Club at its ground under the aegis of Manipur Handball Association.
MPSC sealed their second Group B victory today by defeating ESU, Wangkhei by 26-10 goals. Rabi (9), Shushil (5), Becker (4), Dinachandra (3), Hemanta (2) led the scoring for MPSC as Ingocha, Mocha and Saratchandra grabbed a goal apiece.
Romario (5) and Sashikanta (3) in the meantime led the scoring for ESU as Bablu and Ortega added a goal apiece.
Meanwhile, KVWA won 31-17 against IMC, Thoubal for the second Group B win thanks to significant contributions from Tondonba (10), Ratankumar (9), Samuel (5) and Shitaljit (3) as Mayananda (6) and Lamnganba (4) led the scoring for IMC.
The day also saw YLK, Chingarel Tejpur bounce back from their first Group (B) stage loss to register back to back wins. YLK sealed the first win beating IMC Thoubal 30-13 thanks to Bikramjit (8), Shilheiba (6) and Adison (5) as Prem (4) and Milan (4) led the scoring for ESU.
YLK notched up the second win beating PC, Top Khongnangkhong 20-7 thanks to Shilheiba (7) and Bikramjit (5).
In other Group A matches, BBA, Mayang Imphal defeated NSU 26-18 thanks to Th Ingocha (8), Richard (7) and Wangthoi (6) and ESU defeated YWO, Singjamei 28-22 ; NSU defeated MRC 26-17 courtesy of notable contributions from Edwin (7), Klose (7) and Thamray (5).
In other Group B matches, PC defeated KKYLDO 25-11 and OYO, Kongpal got a walkover win against KKYLDO, Kongpal.
In the only women's match, MPSC extended their winning run to two games securing a 29-15 win over IMC, Thoubal.
M Dimple and Sandhyarani scored 6 identical goals for MPSC in this one sided encounter as Apabi and Luxmi added 5 goals apiece. Sunibala (4), Khomeiton (2) and Bebina (1) were also on target for MPSC.
Ronibala scored highest five goals for IMC as Ranjita, Jenila and Roshibala added three goals apiece and Sonalika added one.
