33rd State Taekwondo ChampionshipUTA sweep as many as 30 medals on Day 3

IMPHAL, May 11 : UTA claimed as many as 29 medals including 6 gold medals on Day 3 of the 33rd State Taekwondo Championship being underway at Khuman Lampak Indoor Hall under the aegis of the All Manipur Taekwondo Association.
UTA topped the senior men's U-63 kg event as M Ronaldo beat SAI's Laishram Bablu in the final before Moirangthem Pareihanba added another gold medal to the unit's tally beating Wahengbam Arson of TTS Nambol in the senior men's U-74 kg event final.
Martina Khuraijam clinched UTA another gold medal in the junior girls U-63 kg competition by beating Gharluxmi Phurailatpam of NSA in the final before Kangabam Malemnganbi also added a gold medal to UTA's tally beating compatriot Lanchenbi Abujam in the cadet girls U-55 kg final.
Priyanka Leitanthem won UTA's fifth gold medal beating compatriot Soraisham Lamnganbi in the senior women's U-62 kg final before AK Devika won another gold medal by beating SAI's Thiyam Lucky Devi in the senior women's U-53 kg final.
The day also saw PTA amass as many as 4 gold medals and 3 bronze medals while LTA, KANGLA, NSA and Thoubal TA bagged three gold medals each besides silver and bronze medals.
For PTA, Wahengbam Binorjit won a gold medal in the sub-junior boys U-23 kg category event beating UTA's Sinthoiba Puyam before Thoihenba Ahanthem won the second gold medal by defeating UTA's Arjun Nongmaithem in the sub-junior boys U-35 kg final.
The third gold medal for PTA was fetched by Linthoinganbi Khumanthem who defeated UTA's Soibam Thadoi in the sub-junior girls' U-20 kg final before Luckysana Konthujam topped the junior girls U-59 kg competition by defeating N Saina of NSA in the final.
Hensana Nongthombam won KANGLA a gold medal in the sub-junior boys U-38 kg event beating Sapam Nilson of TA Lairenshajik before S Malemnganba added second gold medal of the day by defeating UTA's Mairembam Raj in the junior boys U-73 kg final.
The third gold medal for KANGLA came from the cadet girls U-59 kg event with Shamurailatpam Nurshika defeating UTA's Precila Chabungbam in the final.
LTA in the meantime added three gold medals to their tally courtesy of Leitanthem Rohit, who defeated Kanglon TA's Khondram Ichathoiba in the junior boys U-68 kg final; Ayekpam Yumjaosana, who defeated SAI's Leimapokpam Lamnganba in the cadet boys U-61 kg final and Velona Konthoujam, who got the better of UTA's Smriti Leima Okram in the sub-junior girls U-35 kg final.
For NSA, Nitish Waribam (junior boys U-51 kg), N Sania (junior girls U-46 kg) and Thokchom Lingjenthoibi (cadet girls U-29 kg) won gold medals as Yumnam Depika (sub-junior girls U-32 kg), Elangbam Mancy (cadet girls U-37 kg) and Saikhom Imoba (cadet boys U-33 kg) bagged gold medals for Thoubal TA.
SAI's Nivasis Moirangthem (cadet boys U-41 kg) and Takhellambam Yaiphaba (cadet boys U-65 kg) also won gold medals for their unit today.
