MU retain AI Inter University Sepak Takraw women's team event title

IMPHAL, May 11 : Defending champions Manipur University women's team retained the team event crown in the All India Inter University Sepak Takraw hosted by University of Calicut, Kerala at St Mary's college, Thrissur from May 8 to 10.
Being defending champions, MU team were seeded from the quarterfinals where they defeated MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareily 2-0 to enter semi-finals which was played in league format, said Assistant Director of Sports, MU in a release.
In the semi-final league competition, MU defeated hosts Calicut University 3-0 before defeating Punjabi University, Patiala 3-0 to seal the top honour.
They will also be feted with a cash reward of Rs 10,000 each, it added.
